The Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit
organization that provides the best classical music performances for
central New Hampshire during the fall, winter, and spring. Not only
does the orchestra provide an opportunity for musicians of varying abilities
to come together to make music, but through educational and other performances
it hopes to increase the exposure to and appreciation of those compositions
that comprise the standard repertoire.
The New Hampshire Music Festival originally established
the LRSO in 1975. In the spring of 1988 a board of directors was formed,
which then created the orchestra as it is today. Over the years the
orchestra has become a premier community organization, utilizing both
professional and amateur musicians. Young music students are encouraged
to join the orchestra to augment their private studies.
The Orchestra Personnel and the Board of Directors
are comprised of musicians of all ages, from the following Lakes Region
